Our little family.

Back in May we had David Terry, the same person who took our engagement and wedding photos, take some family pictures for us. He did a terrific job, just as he did before!

I was a little worried Kennedy wouldn't be very cooperative since we were taking them around her bedtime, but he still managed to get some cute shots of her!

I'm in love with them and with this cute little family I have.

Pagosa Springs

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Last week we were able to join my family at a cabin in a cute little town Colorado town known as Pagosa Springs. My dad travelled to Pagosa when he was growing up and he has since been going just about every summer and we were finally able to tag along this time.

It was a beautiful place and it was so nice to see some of my family that we hadn't seen since December! We went on a hike to Piedra Falls, went to a wildlife park, had some wonderful food and even better company.

We'll definitely be making the annual summer trip to Pagosa Springs as long as we can!

Cole's family has a timeshare, so a lot of the times when a holiday rolls around they're hitting the road for an adventure, which is always so fun to be a part of. This year for the Fourth of July we all went to Steamboat Springs, CO, which if you remember is where Cole and I went on our honeymoon! It was so fun to be back in that quaint little town again and I wish we could go back more often. We did a lot of relaxing at the condo, a little bit of shopping, played games, watched movies and went on the Gondola ride at a beautiful ski resort where we had dinner at the top of the mountain. It was a great vacation for sure!

Here are a few pictures from the trip! We didn't take near as many as we should've and since Kennedy was running a fever due to a viral infection we had to lay low a couple of the days we were there, but at least we got some!

We are so grateful for all who are currently serving or who have served in the military. Without them our lives would not be the way they are today. God bless America!

Kennedy Lou at 11 months

Our baby girl is 11 months old and here's what it's like:

Kennedy Lou at 11 months you:

ARE OFFICIALLY WALKING! All within about a weeks time you decided that when you fell after a couple of steps you’d stand back up and try again and now you walk everywhere! You can even pivot and turn around.

You have five teeth with number six on it’s way!

You have just enough hair for a ponytail on top of your head. It looks kinda goofy, but cute at the same time.

You have a great working knowledge of what the phrase “no no” means FOR you, but when we tell you “no no” you do it anyways. Not quite sure how we’re gonna fix that…

If you’re holding something and you don’t want someone to take it away from you you put it behind your back or pull it out of their reach. It’s pretty stinkin’ funny!

You dance like nobody’s business and it’s adorable. You’ve even started moving just one little leg sometimes instead of just your hips and your head.

You stayed in Colorado for your first time since we were in Steamboat Springs for the Fourth of July weekend. And during this trip was your first time being sick. You were running a little fever due to a viral infection, so nothing serious, but it wasn’t very fun seeing you sick and not being able to do much about it. You bounced back to your spunky, happy little-self in no time though! (I'll be posting soon about said trip :)).

You’re definitely becoming more independent as far as feeding yourself is concerned, which makes for lots of messy times, but it is fun to see you learn and grow in this sort of way. You grabbed a plum off the table and devoured it all on your own, and the same day I made you some popsicles with breastmilk and mixed berries and you loved them, to say the least.

We sure love you and look forward to the next month leading up to your 1st birthday!
