Seven, heavenly months.

Kennedy Lou has been in our family for seven months now and she truly is a gift from heaven. She has a smile that will light up an entire room and brings so much joy and perspective to both Cole and I. I know people say this a lot, but really...how can I love another child as much as I love her?! I'm sure I'll be able to, but there are times when I definitely worry. :)

On with the update!

Kennedy Lou, at seven months you:

CRAWL! You did the army crawling thing for a while and got pretty good at it, but once you figured out how much faster and easier you could get around on your hands and knees, you were all for it!

You can also sit up! You're not quite a pro yet, but you're getting there.

Seeing as how you can crawl, you've also been pulling up on anything and everything, which has made the bumps and bruises begin. It's so hard to see you fall, but I know you've got to learn to get back up again and keep going,  literally. And figuratively you'll have to learn that's what you do in life too, but we're not quite to that point yet. :)

You have a little tooth coming in! We used to let you chew on our fingers, but that's gonna have to come to a stop real soon...

You've become a pretty good little eater! You didn't like any pureed meats we gave you, but when we mix it with your veggies and add a little garlic powder to it you don't mind it one bit! Which is a good thing because if you didn't like garlic your dad may have had a bone to pick with you. :)

You've been able to play outside since the weather is warming up and you love it! You were a little hesitant to crawl in the grass, but now you like it and you go around pulling huge handfuls of it out of the ground and try to eat it and the leaves - you put everything in your mouth. :) Now that you're mobile we've gotta keep our eye out much more to make sure you don't ingest anything harmful!

You're so curious and very observant. Whenever there's a lot going on around you, you kind of sit back and try to soak it all in.

You're so wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better little person to join our family! Now on to some more pictures of what you've been up to lately.

See this mirror? It is no longer in one piece. In fact, it is now in about 100 pieces in our dumpster because Kennedy Lou thought it'd be a good thing to hold on to as she was pulling herself up. That didn't work out so well...

No, that isn't a tattoo, Cole got a little overzealous with the stain he was using at work.

We walked home from church last Sunday since the weather was so nice!

Sunday afternoon snoozing with dad. The funny thing is that Cole sleeps like that sometimes too. :)

On another note, we had fun with Madre, Jeff and the boys while they were in town visiting. It was a short visit, but we made the most of it! Snowboarding, shopping, food, watching movies...we had a good time! Why can't spring break be a whole month? :)

Well, that's all for now...adios!

Sunshine and Strawberries

Monday, March 10, 2014

Yesterday was such a beautiful spring day. We laid blankets out on the grass in our new backyard and soaked up some good ole vitamin D, giggled, smiled and just lived in the moment. I love times like that with my little family.

Kennedy also had a taste of a delicious chocolate covered strawberry that her mom left on the bed during nap time. She woke up with brown around her mouth and since we had just been outside prior to her nap, I figured it was dirt, but then we realized it was chocolate. I'm prettttty sure babies aren't supposed to have chocolate, but heck, she didn't care! I'm sure she enjoyed every single lick.

Our new home also has a bathtub and boy do we have a little water baby on our hands. She loves splashing in the tub.

Some of our favorite Texans are on their way to see us for their spring break and we can't be more excited to see them! We'll definitely be talkin' about our adventures with them soon.
