Our newest family pictures.

Since we invested in a nice camera and since we have a good friend named Savanna who knows how to work it and who loves us, we decided to snap some maternity pictures so that we would be able to remember what I looked like while in the last month of being pregnant with little miss Kennedy Lou. We got some really great shots and had a good time!

The old train station here in Canyon made for a good background for the majority of our pictures. Cole wanted some with the graffiti on one of the trains that was stopped (go figure :)) and then the rest are just with the beauty of Texas!

This was Cole's favorite book when he was little, so we thought it would be cute to get a picture with it. :)

We can't wait to meet our sweet baby girl! It shouldn't be too much longer until she's here since I'm 38 weeks today!

Heaven on earth.

We drove the hour and a half it takes to get to Lubbock today in order to attend the temple since we hadn't had the pleasure of doing so since March and, to say the least, it was a great experience (always is) and a great day overall. Being in the house of the Lord with the person you are sealed to for time and all eternity is one of the best feelings there is in this world. It reminds me of what really matters in this life.

After the temple we grabbed lunch at Chipotle, then headed back to our home here in Canyon.

We love Chipotle and the temple! And one another, of course. :)

Summer lovin'.

In case you didn't know...

I quit my job here in Texas at the end of June because it wasn't all that I had envisioned and it ended up being a little more stressful and disappointing than I would have liked. However, I can say that I did learn quite a bit about myself through the whole experience as well as the work I would like to be involved in in the near future because of it. And it did provide us with a way to make a living while being in Texas this summer so that we could spend some good quality time with my family for a little bit, which is exactly what we've been up to lately!

Thanks to Pinterest, I've been able to get in touch with a crafty side of me that I never really knew existed! Not having homework or a job means I actually have time to do all the fun crafty things that I've "pinned" and I love it!

Here are some cute little hair bows I've made for our sweet baby girl using this tutorial.

I also made an envelope style pillowcase using this tutorial and I must say, it turned out pretty good for my first major sewing project!

My mom wanted a cute cake stand for the cupcakes to be displayed on at my baby shower, so what did we do? Thanks again to Pinterest, we went to an antique store, found a lovely plate and crystal glass, glued them together and made this adorable thing!

On the 2nd we were able to see our baby girl via ultrasound one last time before we meet her in person. It's so neat to see how much she has grown over the past 8 and a half months...it's hard to believe we could be meeting her any day now!

Madre and Jeff decided to become members of the country club for this summer so that we could all go swimming to beat the hot Texas heat and boy have we enjoyed it!

Summer always has been and I think always will be my favorite time of the year. I love the food, weather and activities that come along with it! This one has been especially neat since I've been able to share a Texas summer with my love.

The land of the free and the home of the brave.

With the 4th of July falling on a Thursday we weren't quite sure how it'd pan out, but we ended up having a really good time here in Canyon! Our festivities began with a breakfast with other members of our Church here in Canyon. I signed up to take fruit so I thought cutting up watermelon in the shape of stars would be a fun, festive and cute fruit to take!

We then ventured downtown where the parade would be and walked around "the square" where booths from local stores and restaurants were set up.

One of the many reasons that I love Texas - wildflowers! These beautiful Indian Blanket flowers have taken over a yard here in Canyon, which I think is gorgeous!

My good friend Denise from high school was in town with family for the day and made a stop by our place for a couple of hours. It was so good getting to see her!

We then had some yummy burgers seasoned with Cole's special spice, "McColemick," sweet potato fries and Lisa's famous Buster Bars came after the firework show, which we watched from the back of Goldie - typical 4th of July food and festivities if you ask us!

We love, support and pray for our troops just about everyday and are so very grateful for them and for this free country we are able to live in.

God bless America!
